The thematic seminar organized by the Regional Directorate for Housing Policies, Territorial Planning, and Marine Policies within the framework of the European InterRevita Project took place on Monday 9 February 2026.
The online meeting – entitled Regeneration and redevelopment to reduce land consumption Projects in small and medium-sized cities in Lazio – saw a large turnout from partners, institutions, and local stakeholders.
During the meeting, several urban regeneration projects, already completed or underway in the Lazio region, implemented pursuant to Regional Law 7/2017, were presented. Examples of good practices were proposed for exchange with partners from various countries (Poland, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, and Belgium).
The works were opened by the’Architect Cristiana Pimpini (expert in territorial and urban planning), which brought the focus of the seminar on the topic of public policies and actions undertaken in the Lazio Region on the subject of urban regeneration, introducing the importance of the operational tool of Memorandum of Understanding: a memorandum of understanding between the Lazio Region and the Municipalities of Borbona, Leonessa and Posta (stakeholders).
The program continued with the intervention of Małgorzata Steckiewicz (consultant of the Polish Lead Partner, the city of Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki), who illustrated the challenges and objectives of InterRevita, summarizing the good practices learned during the study visits carried out during the project activities.
Architect Emanuela Vecchio (Mobility Policy Expert) He presented the learning process and what the Lazio working group acquired during study visits to the partners, including the exchange with the Navarra Region (Spain).
Following are the interventions of the Dr. Pierluigi Sanna (Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Rome with responsibility for European Projects and Mayor of Colleferro) and Dr. Umberto Zeppa (President of the Colleferro Urban Planning Commission). Among the projects presented by local administrators are the renovation of the former IPIA building in the historic center, destined to become a new municipal library; the creation of a neighborhood square and the relocation of the IPIA Paolo Parodi Delfino School, along with the demolition and conversion of the former Municipal Senior Citizens' Center; and the renovation and renovation of the former slaughterhouse, destined to house social housing and a Center for Children with Autism.
The following spoke:’Architect Valentina Fraticelli (Construction, Building Renovation, and Special Projects Office of the ATER of the Province of Viterbo), who presented the company's skills and introduced the’'ing. Andrea Grazini, director of the restoration and conservative redevelopment works of 5 ERPS apartments in Castiglione in Teverina (VT), and then the’architect Angelo Severini, Director of the restoration and conservative redevelopment of ATER-owned properties for the construction of 12 residential residential units with annexes in Sipicciano – a hamlet of Graffignano (VT).
The seminar concluded with a Round Table that encouraged open debate between speakers and participants.
